With the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan, a commemorative event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Barcelona on Wednesday 28 February.

Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, the local public and the Azerbaijani community took part in the event organised by the Society of Azerbaijanis in Barcelona and the House of Azerbaijan in Barcelona.

After honouring the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide with a minute’s silence, the counsellor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan, Hamid Zeynalov, the director of the Society of Azerbaijanis in Barcelona and the House of Azerbaijan in Spain, Karim Karimov, and the director of the non-governmental organisation “Arts Council Azerbaijan”, Dadash Mammadov, delivered speeches during the commemorative event.

Pianist Sara Amirian Dilruba and composer Aidan Abbasova, as well as violinist Angie Harumi Mendoza performed at the event, which continued with a programme of concerts. The musicians performed pearls of Azerbaijani and world classical music. As part of the event, a photo exhibition reflecting the events of the Khojaly genocide was presented.
