The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, yesterday advocated taking advantage of the “tragic opportunity” that is the war in the Middle East to promote the two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.
During his speech on a panel on the future of Palestinian-Israeli relations at the Munich Security Conference, Albares highlighted that “several times throughout history, both Palestinians and Israelis have agreed on a solution.” of two States, its real implementation for a Palestinian State,” reports Efe.
“This escalation of violence has no justification. I don’t see any political vision behind all this violence. There is a real risk of contagion (of violence) beyond Gaza. We see what is happening in the West Bank. “We are very, very concerned about a Lebanon that is already very fragile,” the minister said.
“We all know what we need to have peace and security for Palestinians and Israelis. We take Israel’s security very seriously. When we call for a permanent ceasefire, for the immediate entry of humanitarian aid – which is absolutely necessary in Gaza given the catastrophic humanitarian situation – and when the immediate release of the Israeli hostages who remain in the hands of the armed wing of Hamas is urged, all this is for the benefit of both Israelis and Palestinians,” Albares added.
“Several times throughout history, both Palestinians and Israelis have agreed on a two-state solution, its actual implementation for a Palestinian state,” said the minister, who stated: “We know that this is the true formula that “It will bring peace and security to both. So let’s take advantage of this tragic opportunity and do it, that is the meaning of our Peace Conference.”

On the sidelines of the Security Conference, Albares also met with his colleague from Jordan, Ayman Safadi, to whom the Spanish minister reiterated our country’s commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East: release of all hostages, ceasefire permanent and establishment of the Palestinian State, as explained in his account on the social network X.
