France names Diego López Garrido Commander of the Order of the Legion of Honour

The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, has named Diego López Garrido, Executive Vice-President of the Fundación Alternativas, as Commander of the Order of the Legion of Honour. In the communication sent by the French ambassador to Spain, Jean-Michel Casa, it is stressed that it is “a just reward for the friendship and commitment he has always shown in strengthening and reinforcing the ties between France and Spain”.

 

In addition to being Executive Vice-President of the Fundación Alternativas, Diego López Garrido is an emeritus professor of Constitutional Law, a member of the Spanish Parliament and a graduate in Business Studies. He has been a Member of Parliament in several legislatures and Secretary of State for the European Union (2008-2011). He has written extensively on legal, economic and political issues, and is a regular contributor to the main media.
