The Teatro Fernán Gómez premieres an updated version of ‘Yerma’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Jardiel Poncela Hall of the Fernán Gómez Theatre. Centro Cultural de la Villa de Madrid premieres until the 25th of this month Yerma. La Dramática Errante, by Federico García Lorca, in an updated version directed and written by María Goiricelaya.

She is a renowned artist from Bilbao. Her husband, a successful businessman. Her sister, a woman run over by life. Her mother, the person who never embraced her… And her ex, someone with whom being a mother was a possibility. This is the scenario of Ella, our Yerma. A scenario where this young woman flows like a tequila in Puerto Escondido, like a bhang lassi in Goa, like a cold beer in Alexanderplatz.

It may be sacrilege to propose a Yerma without a word from Lorca, but this one contains the words of all those women who today face the impossibility of having offspring biologically. This version is performed by Ane Pikaza, Aitor Borobia, Unai Izquierdo, Loli Astoreka and Leire Orbe. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
