This evening at 8 p.m., the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid presents a new In Scena a Palazzo event with a concert by the classical guitarist Alberto Mesirca, offering a programme of great interest for music lovers.
Alberto Mesirca is a talented Italian classical guitarist. He graduated from the Biennio Esecutivo Specialistico del Conservatorio di Castelfranco Veneto with the highest marks and honours. He completed the Konzert-Examen at the Musikakademie in Kassel with honourable mention. He has participated in master classes with renowned guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, Alvaro Diaz, Aniello Desiderio and Jason Vieaux.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including the Gramophone Award for best concept album with Hugo Ticciati and O/Modernt. He has also won the “Golden Guitar” three times at the Alexandria International Convention. As a soloist, he has performed at major guitar festivals around the world, such as the Guitar Foundation of America, the Koblenz Guitar Festival and the Mertz Festival in Bratislava, and has collaborated with internationally renowned musicians such as Marc Ribot. Mesirca is also a professor at the Conservatorio “Steffani” in Castelfranco Veneto. He has published works for several publishers, including Edizioni Curci, Chanterelle, Zimmermann and Rai Trade. Important composers such as Leo Brouwer, Angelo Gilardino, Claudio Ambrosini and Dusan Bogdanovic have written works especially for him.
The concert will feature pieces by various composers, such as Francesco Canova da Milano (1497-1543), Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757), S. Bach (1685-1750), Giulio Regondi (1822-1872), Antonio Jose (1902-1936), Angelo Gilardino (1941-2022) and Frantz Casséus (1915-1993).
