In view of the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and in memory of the Ukrainian victims of this aggression, which continues to claim lives and destroy Ukrainian territory, the documentary film The Hamlet Syndrome will be screened on Thursday 8 February at 9 p.m. at the Cine Doré (Calle Santa Isabel, 3).
The documentary portrays a generation of Ukrainians marked by a time of war and political turmoil. The starting point of the film is the preparations for a theatrical performance based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The rehearsals, combined with the entry into the private lives of the characters, create a moving portrait of a generation scarred by war.
Screening with the support and honorary patronage of the Embassy of Poland, in cooperation with the Instituto Polaco de Cultura, the Embassy of Ukraine, the Instituto Goethe and Fundación AVA Arts. Discussion afterwards by Piotr Rosołowski, director of the film, and Kateryna Shevchenko, director of the Ukrainian Film Week, moderated by Joanna Bardzińska of the Fundación AVA Arts.
Ticket sales available online at this link or at the box office only from 5 February.
