The Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport (CETM) on Thursday called on the Spanish Government to ask the French authorities to adopt measures to put an end to the road blockades in France by French farmers, which are affecting Spanish transporters.
The CETM denounces that the blockades that are being recorded these days “are not only causing delays or economic losses, but also endanger the safety and well-being of professional drivers who are trapped.”
The transporters’ association regrets that the protest actions no longer only consist of blocking roads or slowing down traffic, but are also preventing access to logistics warehouses and are throwing goods out of some trucks.
Yesterday, several access and exit routes to Paris were blocked by farmers, who, in their protests against the French Government, are acting against Spanish transporters that cross France, causing them, in some cases, to lose their goods.
On several occasions in previous years, the Spanish authorities were forced to demand that the French authorities adopt measures to protect our country’s transporters from the actions of farmers.
