Concert by Fabrizio Bosso (trumpet) and Julian Oliver Mazzariello (piano), entitled The sky is full of stars in a tribute to the musician Pino Danielle. The dates are this evening at 19.30 at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in the city of San Sebastian and tomorrow Wednesday at 20.30 at the Instituto (Calle Mayor, 86).
This tribute was born on the occasion of an exhibition dedicated to the great Italian authors organised by the MAXXI Museum in Rome in 2018, for which the journalist Ernesto Assante, who was in charge of its artistic direction, thought of entrusting Fabrizio with the task of paying tribute to the great Neapolitan singer-songwriter. Pino Daniele has been one of Fabrizio Bosso’s points of reference, and the decision to create this tribute with Julian Oliver Mazzariello, with whom he has been collaborating for twenty years now, was immediate.
The chosen repertoire spans over time: Je so’ pazzo, Quando, Napule è, Quanno chiove, Se mi vuoi, A me me piace o’ blues, even some lesser known ones such as Allora si, Mal di te and obviously Sicily, the song composed with Chick Corea.
Pino Daniele was a singer-songwriter, composer and guitarist with a blues background, one of the most innovative musicians on the Italian scene. His music is very close to jazz, which he loved and knew very well. During his more than forty-year career he collaborated with numerous prestigious artists such as Franco Battiato, Lucio Dalla, Ralph Towner, Yellowjackets, Mike Mainieri, Danilo Rea and Mel Collins. Free admission with prior reservation until full capacity is reached. To participate it is necessary to send an email to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com , indicating name, surname and contact telephone number of all the people for whom you are booking.
