Author: Carlos Miranda.

Tomorrow Tuesday at 7pm, the Spanish diplomat Carlos Miranda presents his autobiographical book Volver a levantarse, at the Fundación Carlos de Amberes (Calle de Claudio Coello, 99). Seating is limited, please request an invitation here.

The book is part of the collection La Valija Diplomática, published by Cuadernos del Laberinto. Miranda, posted to embassies in Washington, Algeria and England, and twice Spanish ambassador to NATO, has also held important posts in different institutions and administrations, such as the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was appointed Director General of Foreign Policy for Security and Disarmament, among other posts.

Carlos Miranda gives an entertaining account of his life’s journey between Spain and abroad, which included defending Spanish interests from the time he entered the diplomatic service as a young man, a profession he had known since childhood as his father was a member of the Spanish diplomatic service. Life smiled on him from the beginning, but he also had to overcome, like so many others, the personal and professional setbacks that always lurk alongside success, highlighting the fact that one must always strive. A life of work for his country, his family and for himself.

Miguel Ángel Aguilar, president of the Fundación Carlos de Amberes; Emilio Contreras, journalist; Paloma Serra, co-director of the Valija Diplomática Collection, and Alicia Arés, director of the Cuadernos del Laberinto publishing house, will take part in the presentation.
