Just five days after six ambassadors presented their Letters of Credence to King Felipe VI, another batch of heads of mission did the same yesterday, meaning that all of them will be able to attend the traditional reception of the monarch to the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Spain.

After months of waiting due to the electoral process and the subsequent formation of the government in Spain, the ambassadors of Italy, Giuseppe Maria Buccino; Vietnam, Thanh Song Doan; Mozambique, Eugenio Agostinho Langa; Czech Republic, Libor Sečka; Turkey, Nüket Küçükel Ezberci; and Costa Rica, Adriana Bolaños Argueta, handed over their accreditations yesterday.

The ceremony took place five days after a similar one in which the ambassadors of El Salvador, North Macedonia, Iran, Peru, Thailand and Angola came to the Royal Palace to comply with diplomatic protocol.

Minister José Manuel Albares was unable to attend the ceremony, as is protocol, because he is at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In his place, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the Undersecretary, Luis Manuel Cuesta.
