Jaume Duch, Spokesperson and Director General for Communication of the European Parliament, has joined the faculty of the Postgraduate Programme in Public Affairs Management (PDAP), which will begin its 14th edition on 26 January, according to NITID Institute.

The PDAP is the first programme in Spain specialising in this discipline. Since 2011, it has trained more than 300 managers and professionals from the world of business, public administration, the third sector and associations in public affairs techniques.

Together with Miguel López-Quesada, president of Dircom, Jaume Duch will give the inaugural session of the PDAP, entitled ‘The importance of dialogue between administrations and organisations’.

Duch holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona (1980-1985), where he later taught International Public Law (1986-1990). After this period as a lecturer, in 1990 he became a European Union official working in the European Parliament.

Since then, he has worked in the field of parliamentary information and communication. He was spokesman and adviser to the President of the European Parliament, José María Gil-Robles, from 1997 to 1999, as well as head of the Press Room. He was also responsible for parliamentary information for the Conventions that drafted the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the draft European Constitution.

Since February 2017, he has been Director General for Communication and Spokesperson of the European Parliament.

He is the author of several publications, articles and communications on issues related to the institutions of the European Union and EU law.

The Postgraduate in Public Affairs Management to which he joins as a professor will be taught at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas – ICADE and will take place over eight weekends, from 26 January to 23 March 2024.
