The Diplomat
Six foreign ambassadors will present, today, their Letters of Credence to the King in a ceremony that will take place at the Royal Palace.
This brings to an end a period of almost eight months in which the ceremony did not take place, which has meant that some twenty ambassadors are waiting to present their Letters of Credence, as reported by The Diplomat.
On Friday, from 10.30 in the morning until 13.30 in the afternoon, Don Felipe will receive the titles accrediting the representatives of El Salvador, Joaquín Alexander Maza Martelli; North Macedonia, Edmond Ademi; Iran, Reza Zabib; Peru, Walter Gutiérrez; Thailand, Vosita Vorasaph; and Angola, Alfredo Dombe, as ambassadors to Spain.
All of them have been in Spain since before last summer, where they have been working as ambassadors, but have not been able to attend events presided over by the head of state.
Now, after the presentation of their credentials, they will be able to do so, and one of the first acts will be the traditional reception that the Monarch offers to the Diplomatic Corps, to congratulate the ambassadors for the new year, which will take place in the last days of January.
A new ceremony for the presentation of Letters of Credence is scheduled for the 17th, to which another six or seven ambassadors will be summoned, strictly following the order of their arrival in Madrid and the presentation of their Copies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
