Maider Makua, born in Bilbao in 1981 and with a degree in Business Administration and Management and a Master in management skills from the University of Deusto, has been a member of the Diplomatic Career since 2008.
She began her professional career at the Spanish Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as second head and head of the consular section (2010-2013). She then moved to the European External Action Service, where she was policy officer in the regional affairs unit for the Americas at the European External Action Service in Brussels (2013-2015) and deputy head and head of political, press and communication section. at the EU Delegation in Managua (2015-2019).
Subsequently, she was counselor in charge of Administrative Affairs at the Spanish Embassy in Belgium (2019-2020), deputy director in the Protocol Department of the Presidency of the Government (2020-21) and director of the Technical Office of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for the Development (AECID), from 2021 to the present.
