The play Ojalá exista la poesía (I wish poetry existed), a multimedia and one-woman show, will come to Teatro del Barrio (Calle Zurita, 20) on Thursday 11 January at 10.15 p.m. It is a multimedia and one-woman show that exposes the vicissitudes, difficulties and misdirections of Sara Raca, its author and performer, in her poetic search.
The proposal was part of the Festival Internacional de Poesía en Voz Alta (PVA.15) organised by Casa de Lago (UNAM) in 2015. Since then, each presentation has been part of this journey, and the project has travelled all over Mexico until it now reaches Spain for the first time.
Sara Raca is a hybrid Mexican poet, self-taught and psychodisident. She is a female poet in resistance in search of her autonomy. She keeps on performing, creating textile work and giving workshops, working in community and travelling around Mexico. Always interested in being a participant and facilitating processes of recovery and human encounter, through art and transdisciplines. Tickets for the monologue can be purchased here.
