The international dance company Elephant in The Black Box will present its show, Cut Piece, tomorrow Tuesday at 8pm at the theatre of the Instituto Francés.
4 pieces, 4 identities, 13 dancers, this dance performance is an artistic representation of the word “shred”, a piece or fragment of something, such as a torn piece of cloth or a torn piece of paper. The choreography seeks to convey the message that while our lives may be full of fragmented and broken moments, we also have the power to bring those fragments together and create beauty from them. The dance explores the beauty in imperfection and the ability to rebuild what is broken. The work is divided into 4 “Shreds”, directed by different choreographers: “Practice of transcendence”, “Candy crush”, “Be one” and “Yellow lie”. Each of which embodies fragments of existence, from birth to lie, desire and union. Book at this link.
