On Friday 15 December at 6.30 p.m., the Fundación Carlos de Amberes (Calle Claudio Coello, 99) is hosting a Christmas Concert by the Quintet 1909 in its auditorium.
An exceptional show through which this Quintet will present Paradigma, its first album for guitar quintet. With the aim of disseminating chamber music for Spanish guitar, and in a new and original way, these five guitars (three Spanish guitars, a double bass guitar and a soprano) will delight with a rich programme, with works and adaptations of Pachelbel, M. D. Pujol, or J.A. Chic, among others.
The Quinteto 1909 was born from the concern of a group of professional guitarists to disseminate chamber music for Spanish guitar, presenting it as an original and attractive show. To this end, they combine the sonority of three Spanish guitars with two special instruments: a double bass guitar and a soprano guitar. In this way, they have created a unique and novel formation, which allows them to increase the possibilities of register, sonority and repertoire with respect to conventional guitar ensembles. The Quinteto 1909’s firm commitment to this new path has borne fruit and for the last five years they have been ambassadors for the string brand Royal Classics (Spain), which has created an exclusive set of strings for the group. During this time they have performed in numerous places in Spain, both at festivals and in the programmes of public and private institutions. For Quinteto 1909, music knows no frontiers and for this reason they try to share their music in different cultural spaces. Consult accessibility by calling 914352201 or at fca@fcamberes.org.
