The Theatre of the Instituto Francés in Madrid will host a preview screening of the film The Book of Solutions (Le Livre des solutions), directed and written by Michel Gondry, tomorrow Thursday at 8pm. The film will be screened in its original version with Spanish subtitles.
Pierre Niney and Blanche Gardin star in this French comedy that tells the story of a film director who finds himself in the midst of a crisis and whose talent is called into question. In addition to the stress he is under, the film he is working on is beyond his means: little is understood about what is going on in it and it has already far exceeded its initial budget. Before the investors wrest control from him, Marc, the eccentric film director, flees with his film to finish it. Accompanied by his faithful crew, he hides out in a small rural village in France with his aunt Denise, his best advisor. There, his creativity manifests itself in a million ideas that plunge him into a strange chaos. Consumed by his neurosis, Marc begins to write The Book of Solutions, a guide of practical advice that could be the answer to all his problems.
