Two agents of the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) have been arrested for allegedly having leaked classified information to the United States. One of them has already been imprisoned and the case is being investigated under secret.

The information was reported yesterday by El Confidencial, which said that a judge in Madrid had opened an investigation into the matter, which was confirmed by the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles.

During her visit to the Adazi base in Latvia, the Defence Minister limited herself to pointing out that the judge had opened these investigations and indicated that the complaint came precisely from the intelligence centre to which the agents belonged, although she did not offer any further details of the case as it was being kept secret.

Neither the US Embassy in Madrid nor the US State Department spokesman commented on the case.
