Seven out of ten young university students in Mexico trust Spanish companies and perceive them as companies with a good image (69.56 points out of 100) and reputation (69.16), which stand out for being considered as advanced companies in management (69.44) and technology (69.16) and for offering quality products and services (69.16).

This is evidenced by the results of the study ‘The Image of Spanish Companies and their Executives in Mexico 2023’, prepared by the MESIAS-Inteligencia de Marca España Institute, which was presented at the Technological Institute of Sonora (Mexico) and in which 18 universities in the country participated.

The results of this first study, which were presented by the director of the MESIAS Institute, José María Cubillo, show that Spanish companies are perceived in Mexico, in general, as respected (71.03) and valued (70.94), recognized (74.08 points), with prestige (70.34) and credibility (69.16) and that they generate trust (68.75).

Likewise, they consider that, with their presence and activity, they contribute value to Mexican society as a whole and help generate opportunities for economic development (73.40), making investments that benefit the country (72.22) and contribute to development (70.86). Technology (73.25), Innovation (71.41) and Experience (71.04) are the three contributions that young university students highlight most in relation to the value contributed by Spanish companies to the country.

BBVA is considered to be the Spanish company that generates the most trust in Mexico, followed at some distance by Santander, which is in second place in the Aztec market, and by Telefónica, which is in third place. The Top 5 pool is completed by Inditex and Repsol, in fourth and fifth position, respectively. They are followed by Gamesa, Gas Natural Fenosa, Iberdrola, Santillana and Mercadona (despite not having a presence in the American market) to complete the Top 10 ranking.

By brands, the ranking is led by the Bancomer BBVA brand, followed by Santander, in second place, and Movistar, which takes bronze. Zara and Repsol, in fourth and fifth position, respectively, complete the Top 5. They are followed by Gamesa, Gas Natural Fenosa, Iberdrola, Inditex, and Santillana to complete the Top 10 ranking.
