Premiere of the long-awaited biopic of ‘Napoleon’, directed by Ridley Scott

The new blockbuster directed by Ridley Scott, the biopic about the emperor Napoleon, has arrived on Spanish cinema screens.

Starring Oscar-winner Joaquim Phoenix, alongside Vanessa Kirby, the film is an epic, action-packed spectacle detailing the convoluted rise and fall of the iconic French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Orchestrated by director Ridley Scott against a dazzling large-scale backdrop, the film depicts Bonaparte’s relentless rise to power through the prism of his addictive and volatile relationship with Josephine, his one true love, presenting his visionary political and military tactics through some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.

Perhaps the best parts of this film are the breathtaking scenes of the battles of Austerlitz, the advance of French troops across the freezing cold Russian lands, and an epic finale at Waterloo. Otherwise, the film is too noticeably cut for commercial reasons.  Despite this, the film has a running time of 2 hours and 38 minutes.
