The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, held a telephone conversation yesterday with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, with whom he discussed economic, industrial and defense cooperation between the two countries.
“This morning I spoke with the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese,” declared Sánchez through his official account on the social network X, industrial and defense between our two countries,” he continued.
“We share values and principles and have numerous areas of common interest, such as the fight against climate change and the defense of the rules-based international order,” said Pedro Sánchez. “We will continue to work together to address global challenges,” he concluded.
Sánchez and Albanese held a bilateral meeting in Madrid on June 28, 2022, during the first official visit to Spain by an Australian prime minister. On that occasion, both leaders addressed the economic and commercial relationship between the two countries, the contribution of Spanish companies to renewable energy and infrastructure in Australia, the increase in Australian investment funds in Spain and cooperation in the fight against climate change.
