The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, and the President of Correos (Post Office), Juan Manuel Serrano, presented on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Madrid the commemorative stamp of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“In this historic semester, the Post Office stamp brings Europe closer to all Spaniards with a logo designed under the conviction that the European project is an integral part of our identity as Spaniards,” said Albares during the event.
“Spain has already presided over the Council of the European Union on four other occasions, the last in 2010, and in all of them Correos has wanted to be present with the issuance of a commemorative stamp, and this time it could not be any other way,” he stated. the president of Correos. “The stamp, in addition to being a means of franking, is an unrivaled support for the transmission between generations of historical facts and notable events, of the culture and values of a country and a territory such as that of the European Union,” added Juan Manuel Serrano.
The stamp, legal tender, gummed and phosphorescent, and vertical format, has a price of two euros and can now be purchased at Post Offices and through the Philatelic Service.
