The president-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei, has invited the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, to attend the inauguration of his post on 10 December, as reported yesterday by the Disenso Foundation.
Vox has welcomed the invitation, but they do not yet know if Abascal will be able to attend the event, which will take place at the Palace of Congress in Buenos Aires, according to party sources told Europa Press.
After learning of Milei’s victory over Peronist candidate Sergio Massa in the second round of the presidential elections in Argentina on Sunday, Abascal congratulated the leader of Libertad Avanza on his “great victory” via the social network X. He added: “Today is the beginning of a new era for the party”. He added: “Today opens a path of future and hope for Argentines and all of Latin America that we celebrate in Spain with special joy. Long live Spain, long live Argentina, live free from socialism and sovereign”.
Only hours after winning the elections, Milei had received in his office the director of the Disenso Foundation, Jorge Martín Frías, and the director of the association linked to Vox Foro Madrid, Eduardo Cader, who conveyed Abascal’s congratulations.
