The Diplomat
A delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy, led by Ambassador Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, along with the head of Political Affairs, Media and Public Diplomacy, Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, and the head of Economic Affairs, Ali Al Nuaimi, visited the Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados Home in Madrid last week to show the UAE’s support for vulnerable children.
“In a gesture of solidarity and compassion,” the Embassy says in a press release, the delegation spent “quality time with the children” to whom it provided gifts and essential items. “This visit,” the release adds, “underscores the UAE’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children and contributing to their well-being.”
The Embassy considers this visit “part of the UAE’s broader commitment to foster social ties and enhance cultural diplomacy, strengthening the bond between the UAE and Spain.” Ambassador Omar Obaid Al Shamsi expressed his enthusiasm for these activities, which he hopes to repeat “to promote cross-cultural awareness and strengthen the warm and cooperative relations that exist between the UAE and Spain.”
