The Embassy of India invites you to the opening of Ole India, the Great Festival of India in the heart of Madrid, tomorrow Saturday at the Auditorio del Parque Enrique Tierno Galván in Madrid. The opening to the public will be from 11 a.m. and the institutional ceremony will take place at 5 p.m., followed by cultural performances.
The Olé India Festival shows the acceptance and integration of Indian culture in Spain. They say that food is the heart and soul of any celebration. The festival will feature a wide variety of tasty delicacies from Indian food restaurants from all over Madrid. Each restaurant will offer their delicious food in attractive displays specially set up for the occasion.
Festival goers will be able to enjoy not only the beauty and delicacy of Indian classical music, but also the energy and vibrancy of pop music from all over India, with performances by the most popular singers and musicians. There will also be the opportunity to see and sample unique handicraft products from all over India. From decorative items to jewellery and fabrics.
The Olé India Festival wants attendees to put on their dancing shoes with an extensive programme of Bollywood, classical and folk dance performances and workshops to experience India’s vibrant cultural heritage through dance.
To make the festival an interactive experience for all, many fun activities and games have been prepared, along with yoga classes and workshops. While children can enjoy various traditional games common at fairs all over India, others can try their hand at interesting activities like Henna designing, saree draping and, of course, yoga classes and workshops.
