The sum of the 100 Spanish fortunes in 2023 amounts to 196,130 million euros, which represents an increase of 37% more than last year, Europa Press reports.
Amancio Ortega, the majority shareholder of Inditex, maintains his leadership in this ranking, after increasing his wealth by 53% compared to 2022, and has a net worth of 81,800 million euros, equivalent to more than double the sum of the rest of the fortunes. that make up the ‘top 10’.
Behind him is his daughter Sandra Ortega – the only woman among the top five on the list – whose fortune grows to 7,100 million euros, a figure that contrasts with that amassed by the current president of Inditex, Marta Ortega, with 80 million. of euros, which is left out of the ‘top 100’.
For his part, the president of Ferrovial, Rafael del Pino closes the ‘top 3’ with a fortune valued at 5,900 million euros, while Juan Carlos Escotet, president of Abanca, rises to fourth position with 4,000 million euros, and the president of Mercadona, Juan Roig, is fifth with 3.900 million euros.
In this edition, Tomás Olivo, owner of General de Galerías Comerciales and second largest shareholder of Unicaja Banco, has seen his fortune double to 3,500 million euros, which has allowed him to rise from seventeenth to sixth position, while Leopoldo del Pino, a shareholder in Ferrovial and with a capital of 2,700 million euros, rises from fourteenth place to ninth.
