HIS Majesty the King will offer next Friday, the 3rd, a lunch at the Zarzuela Palace to the elected president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, who will arrive in Spain on a private visit.
Noboa, who won the second round of the presidential elections held in Ecuador on October 15, had a trip scheduled to various countries, including Spain, before the elections took place.
In fact, on October 20 and 21, Daniel Noboa was in Madrid, as part of that tour, but then he did not maintain any official contact with Spanish authorities. On the contrary, he did meet, accompanied by the Ecuadorian ambassador in Spain, Andrés Vallejo, with representatives of the CEOE employers’ association and with the Ibero-American secretary general, Andrés Allamand, with whom he spoke about the preparations for the 2024 Ibero-American Summit, which will take place in Quito.
Now, Noboa will go to the Zarzuela Palace, where Don Felipe will offer him lunch and, predictably, will inform him of his intention to attend his swearing-in as president of Ecuador, since it is customary for the King to represent Spain in these inaugurations. in Latin America.
The ceremony does not yet have a definitive date, but Ecuadorian media have suggested that it will be next December 1. Daniel Noboa, who at 36 will become the youngest president of a democratic country in the world, will be in office until May 2025, when the term of the current Ecuadorian head of state, Guillermo Lasso, should have ended.
Before going to the Zarzuela Palace, the elected president of Ecuador plans to participate in a breakfast with businessmen organized by the Alliance for Ibero-America Business Council (CEAPI), chaired by Núria Vilanova.
