The Diplomat
The Alcazar Military Residence in Madrid hosted last Friday the celebration of the Day of the Romanian Armed Forces, in an event that counted with the outstanding presence of numerous military and diplomats.
The event, organised to commemorate and recognise the valuable service and sacrifice of the Romanian military, was a space for meeting and camaraderie between soldiers from different branches of the army.
In his speech, the Romanian Ambassador, George Bologan, stressed that military cooperation between Romania and Spain contributes to creating a stronger and more influential external image of the European Union and NATO in the international arena. He added that every time we celebrate the Armed Forces Day of any country, it is a reason to remember the enthusiasm, suffering and heroism of the military.
Colonel Florin Liuta, Romanian Defence Attaché, thanked the Spanish authorities and the military present for their warm welcome and stressed the importance of cooperation and exchange of knowledge between the two countries, while reaffirming Romania’s commitment to continue working hand in hand with Spain to strengthen security and peace in Europe.
