As part of the Green Autumn cycle and the sustainable progress film festival Another way film festival, the writer, activist and philosopher Cyril Dion presents his new documentary series directed by Thierry Robert: A New World, in 3 parts, as the 3 stages of the plan to fight against climate change: Resist, Adapt, Regenerate, this evening at 8pm at the Instituto Francés. VOSE, French with English subtitles.
Travelling around the world in more than 15 countries, Cyril Dion takes the viewer to meet the people who have revolutionised a region, a country or an activity. They are the men and women who have regenerated the earth and the oceans, created the schools of tomorrow and the democracy of the future, and who work every day to breathe new life into our planet. In this journey across five continents, Cyril Dion offers us a new story, that of a more just civilisation that restores hope: A New World.
Resist is the first of three parts of the documentary series, the first stage of the plan. Cyril Dion notes that the situation is much more serious than he imagined and that the problem is above all structural, linked to the economy and the political powers. Local measures were no longer sufficient, and a change of scale was needed. Cyril Dion meets resistors, protesters, NGOs and activists who are taking their countries to court. Some have revolutionised their territory. Despite these successes, a clash seems inevitable. Tickets can be booked at this link.
