The new ambassador of Mauritania in Spain, Zeineb Ely Salem, has presented the Copies of her Letters of Credence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with which she has begun to develop her work in our country.
Zeineb Ely Salem, who replaces Boubacar Kane in her position, presented her Style Copies on September 25 to the introducer of ambassadors, María Sebastián de Erice.
The new diplomatic representative of Mauritania has been ambassador of her country in Italy since 2020, after having held the position of minister general of the Government between 2016 and 2019 and a deputy in the National Assembly between 2016 and 2019, for the current ruling INSAF party.
Zanib Ely Salem, who holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of Nouakchott and she also speaks Spanish, she has a degree in Law and throughout her career she has held various positions in the Mauritanian Administration. Thus, between 2008 and 2012 she was deputy director of the Cabinet of the president of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and, previously, secretary general of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, being the first woman member of the High Authority of the Press.
She also held various positions related to the world of Press and Culture and was president of the Parliamentary Network of Citizen Communication for Culture and Peace and president of the Mauritania-Sweden Parliamentary Friendship Group.
