The prospects that the acting Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, may form a new executive and the political panorama that opens up for Spain in the coming months was the focus of the Tertulia organized last Monday by The Diplomat and in which the speaker was the deputy director of La Vanguardia, Enric Juliana.
Under the title ‘Spain in political brackets’, Enric Juliana analyzed the political situation created by the results of the general elections of July 23, the failure of the investiture of Alberto Núñez Feijóo and the alliances that Sánchez will need to remain in government.
The gathering, organized in collaboration with the Association of Foreign Diplomats (ADE) at the Hotel Meliá Madrid Princesa, was attended by about twenty diplomats from different countries, who were interested in the different scenarios that may arise in the immediate future in Spanish politics.
The Diplomat’s Tertulias have been held periodically for years and deal with different aspects of Spanish politics, economy and society. Its objective is to offer foreign diplomats different approaches and points of view on the Spanish reality, under the condition of strict confidentiality of what is discussed in the room.
