The Copa Jerez closing dinner was the setting chosen for the formalisation of the MOU between ICEX and the Dutch platform Le Club des Vins.

The agreement was signed by María Peña, CEO of ICEX Spain Export and Investment, and Nadien de Visser, certified Wine Educator at FWS Academy, founder and owner of Le Club des Vins, a company that offers cooking courses and wine tastings throughout the country.

ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, through Foods and Wines from Spain Academy, expands its international training network in Spanish products with the agreement signed with this platform. This is the first step towards licensing the Spanish Wine Specialist course to be taught in the Netherlands.

The agreement will also focus on the development of the Hospitality Training Program, promoting cooperation and implementation in the educational field of subjects related to Spanish gastronomy, food and wine, as well as the dissemination of the history of the essential products of the Spanish pantry. It also envisages collaboration in the organisation of visits by Dutch professionals to Spain to gain in-depth knowledge of the products and the areas in which they are produced, and in the setting up of exhibitions of Spanish products, using tools such as tastings.

This international agreement with Le Club des Vins in the Netherlands joins those that FWS Academy has in India with the DPA Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Education and the Institute of Culinary Arts in New Delhi; in Sweden with The Wine Hub; in Hong Kong with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; and in Germany with the International Private Wine Institute Gmbh (IWI).

Within the strategy of dissemination and training in Spanish food and gastronomy for international professionals, a fundamental axis is the one promoted with the Interprofesional del Vino de España (OIVE) for the organisation of training activities on Spanish wine for professionals and consumers in the People’s Republic of China. This project has 112,041 euros for its development, while reinforcing and giving continuity to the collaboration initiated in 2021 between ICEX and OIVE. China is a strategic market for our wineries and this joint effort by both organisations will have a multiplying impact in a country of enormous dimensions.

In addition, the FWS Academy completes its sectoral collaboration in training with an agreement with the Interprofesional del Cerdo Ibérico (ASICI) for the teaching of master classes on the cutting of Iberian ham in China, Mexico, France and Germany.
