The Embassy of Azerbaijan and the School of Economic Intelligence and International Relations of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) present tomorrow Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Casa Asia (Palacio de Cañete, Calle Mayor, 69) the event Geopolitics, Energy and Connectivity: Azerbaijan. In the post-conflict period, Azerbaijan is implementing ambitious infrastructure and connectivity projects covering the areas of transport, energy and digital. However, these projects face significant geopolitical complications, with a range of actors both within and outside the South Caucasus region. This event will discuss the opportunities and constraints Azerbaijan faces in pursuing its regional connectivity ambitions.
The event will be welcomed by the Azerbaijani Ambassador Ramiz Hasanov and Ángel Rodríguez García-Brazales, Director of the School of Economic Intelligence and International Relations (La_SEI). This will be followed by short speeches and discussions on the South Caucasus Region: Security and Connectivity, by Farid Shafiyev, Ambassador and President of the International Relations Analysis Center (AIR Center); on the Geoeconomics of the Caspian Sea, with Ángel Rodríguez García-Brazales; Garabagh and the Geopolitics of Western Civilisation, with Jesús Gil, Head of the International Relations Section of La_SEI (UAM), and finally, The European Perspective of Azerbaijan based on the Rule of Law and Territorial Integrity, by Carlos Uriarte Sánchez, Professor of Law at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
