The city of Medellin, Colombia, will host later this year the VI edition of the Ibero-American Forum of MSMEs, organized jointly by the Ibero-American General Secretariat-SEGIB and the Ibero-American Business Council-CEIB, among other entities, within the framework of the next Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
According to a press release issued yesterday by the CEOE, “this is the only real space for dialogue between peers that exists in the region in the field of MSMEs”. The meeting will take place on December 11 and 12 in a mixed format and will be attended by more than 700 speakers, including authorities and representatives of SMEs and business organizations, entrepreneurs and institutions from Ibero-American countries and observers. In turn, young people, represented by the Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs-FIJE, will have their own space at the Forum under the slogan The vision of young entrepreneurs for the development of MSMEs.
In preparation for the forum, CEIB’s Permanent Secretary and CEOE International Director General, Narciso Casado, and SEGIB’s Head of Economy and Business, Luis F. Pizarro, held a meeting last week with the Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs (FIJE). Pizarro, held an extensive agenda of meetings in the Colombian city with representatives of the other organizing entities, such as the president of ProColombia, Carmen Caballero; the vice president of competitiveness and business development of the Medellin Chamber of Commerce, John Fredy Pulgarin Sierra; and the National Manager of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Antioquia sectional manager of the National Association of Entrepreneurs-ANDI, Alejandro Olaya Davila.
The VI MSMEs Forum is an official event of the program of the XXIX Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government (to be held in Ecuador in 2024) through the XV Ibero-American Business Meeting.
Likewise, according to the CEOE, it is configured as “an unbeatable scenario for reflection on priority issues for this type of companies”, such as access to financing, digitalization, training, regional integration, sustainability or talent, among others. These conferences also help to share best practices and open the conversation and exchange with the public sector.
