The acting Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, will be decorated with the distinction of honour of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, at a ceremony to be held at noon today at the Ukrainian Embassy in Spain.

Spain has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022. Spain’s position has been aligned at all times with that of NATO partners, which is why our country has provided Kiev with medical supplies, defence material and economic support.

Robles is not the first Spanish minister to be decorated by Volodimir Zelenski’s government, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, received the highest award in the country, the Yaroslav the Wise medal, for ‘his support and defence of Ukraine’.
