The European Commission on Thursday authorised the alliance between Spain’s Cobra, part of Acciona, and Australia’s Endeavour Energy for the design, operation and management of the electricity grid in an area of New South Wales.
Specifically, the joint venture will design, build, finance, operate, maintain and manage an electricity transmission grid infrastructure for the central-west Orana area in the Australian state of New South Wales.
The European Commission concludes that the alliance between the Spanish infrastructure company and the Australian distributor does not give rise to competition concerns because it has no actual or planned activities in the European Economic Area. Brussels has examined the transaction under the simplified procedure.
