The semi-submersible vessel FJORD arrived in the port of Amsterdam on Tuesday with the wreck of the OS 35, after it had to return to Gibraltar in early August for undisclosed reasons.

The OS 35 collided with a LNG tanker on the night of 29 August 2022 off the east coast of the Rock, after which it was towed and immobilised to empty the 215 tonnes of heavy fuel oil, 250 tonnes of gas oil and 27 tonnes of lubricating oil it was carrying, although some of the contents leaked into the sea and the Gibraltar authorities organised a protective fence around it to prevent further leaks.

The FJOR left the Rock in the early hours of 28 July, as confirmed by the Maritime Captaincy, but when it was sailing off the coast of Lisbon, it turned back without the authorities officially revealing the cause.
