This August in the city of Madrid is being dominated by the open air cinemas that have been set up in various locations around the Spanish capital. Classic films and premieres share the billboard in this third week of the hottest month of the year.
Cibeles de cine, located in the Galería de Cristal of CentroCentro, offers classic films and premieres in what has become a regular feature of Madrid’s summer cinema offerings. Doors open at 8pm and screenings start at 10pm. This third week of August will see new films such as The Eight Mountains, Aftersun, The Little Mermaid and Asteroid City, along with a variety of classics such as Cinema Paradiso, Breakfast at Tiffany’s or A Streetcar Named Desire.
Fescinal, the open air cinema in the Parque de la Bombilla (Av. de Valladolid, SN) this week offers the feature films Living, Como dios manda, Mansión encantada, Fast&Furious X, Tár or Megalodon 2. The cinema has two screens and the sessions will start at 22.15 hours and also at 00.55 hours on weekends.
For its part, the Plaza de España is home to the La Estival (in the photo) open air cinema screen, a large summer cinema surrounded by gastronomy and history, which this third week of August programmes the premieres of Barbie, Gran turismo or Mission Impossible: Mortal Sequence, together with classics such as A Star is Born, The Artist or Cinema Paradiso, with a concert performance of some very famous soundtracks from the history of cinema.
