Santa Fe City, New Mexico, will host on October 13 and 14 the 27th edition of the Spain-US Forum, the annual meeting between the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Consejo España-EEUU (Spain-US Council Foundation) and members of its counterpart, the United States Spain Council.
The meeting, according to the Council Foundation in a press release, will allow for the discussion of issues of special relevance in the bilateral agenda by experts from the public and private sectors of both countries. On this occasion, the talks will revolve around artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and climate change, energy and water.
This is going to be the second time that the Spain-US Forum will be held in Santa Fe, a city founded in 1016 by the Spaniard Pedro de Peralta and final enclave of the historic Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. The city hosted the fifth edition from October 29-31, 1999.
“Since its first edition, held in Seville in 1995, the Spain-U.S. Forum has become the main platform for dialogue between Spanish and U.S. civil societies and has proven its usefulness as a tool for strengthening bilateral relations in a framework of public-private collaboration,” said the Council Foundation.
In addition, the Santa Fe Forum will be the first to be co-chaired by Josu Jon Imaz, CEO of Repsol and president of the Foundation, and the honorary president of the United States Spain Council, New Mexico State Senator Ben Ray Luján. Both took over in 2022 from their predecessors, the President and CEO of Técnicas Reunidas, Juan Lladó, and Congressman Joaquin Castro, respectively.
