This August’s leisure activities are characterised by the films on offer at the various summer cinemas that have been set up in Madrid.

Cibeles de cine, located in the Galería de Cristal at CentroCentro, offers classic films and premieres in what has become a regular feature of Madrid’s summer cinema offerings. Doors open at 8pm and screenings start at 10pm. This first week of August will see new films such as Oppenheimer, Tár and Asteroid City, as well as classics such as Fellini, Eight and a Half and Bitelchús.

Fescinal, the summer cinema in the Parque de la Bombilla (Av. de Valladolid, SN) offers this week the feature films Irati, Hasta los huesos (Bonds at all), the premiere of the latest instalment of Mission Impossible or El triángulo de la tristeza (The Triangle of Sadness). The cinema has two screens and the screenings will start at 22.15 and also at 00.55 on weekends.

The remodelled Plaza de España also becomes the epicentre of Madrid’s film culture, hosting La Estival, a large summer cinema surrounded by gastronomy and history. Classics such as Singin’ in the Rain or My Girl, and premieres such as Elemental or Megalodon 2 will occupy its sessions this week, with a concert performance of some of the most famous soundtracks in the history of cinema.
