The Teatro Infanta Isabel in Madrid (Calle Barquillo, 24) hosts the latest show by the company Yllana, entitled Maestríssimo.
The play presents the audience with an aesthetic and characters that deal with themes such as ethics, creation, originality and the value of art in society, while at the same time it reviews some of the most important moments in classical music.
In the purest Yllana style, Maestrissimo shows the adventures and misadventures of a string quartet in an indeterminate period between the 17th and 18th centuries (Baroque and Neoclassicism). A filler musician, a second-rate musician without a surname but with an enormous talent, will try to rise through the ranks and reach the title of maestrissimo. Will his talent and genius be enough to make a place for himself in such a hierarchical world? Will he achieve the prestige he rightfully deserves? Tickets can be purchased at this link.
