As part of the Cultural Tuesday cycle, the Cine Verdi in Madrid (calle Bravo Murillo, 28) is screening this evening at 6.05 p.m. the documentary Klimt & Schiele, Eros and Psyche, by Michele Mally.
This documentary guides the viewer through the corridors of the Albertina, the Belvedere and the Vienna Museum of Art History, the Leopold Museum, the Sigmund Freud Museum and the Wien Museum, five of the best museums in Vienna, the capital of Austria. It explains one of the artistic trends that became popular after the First World War and, in particular, those that transformed Klimt and Schiele into two icons of contemporary art. Both painters touched on sensual and even erotic themes, which put them in the spotlight because of the scandal involved. The two of them are the example of a generation of works from different disciplines such as music, literature and art in general, which began to bring new ideas into the public eye.
