Every Thursday and Friday from today until 21 July, the Instituto Francés of Madrid is programming a series of contemporary French films, in sessions that will start at 22:00.
The most successful French films at the box office in recent years will be screened. From the social drama Full Time, by Eric Gravel, to the comedy The Innocent, by Louis Garrel, via the incomparable Cédric Klapisch, with the film One Step Ahead. The screenings will be in French with Spanish subtitles. The full programme of this cycle can be consulted at this link.
To begin with, tonight we will be screening the film Full Time (À plein temps),, directed in 2021 by Eric Gravel, and starring the famous French actress Laure Calamy.
The film tells how Julie makes a titanic effort to raise her two children in the outskirts of Paris while keeping her job in a luxury hotel in the centre. Just when she gets an interview for the job she has long wanted, a general strike breaks out, paralysing all public transport and jeopardising the delicate balance Julie has built up. So begins a mad race against time in which Julie cannot afford to falter. Reservations for the screening can be made at this link.
