Tomorrow Thursday at 6.30 p.m., the Centro Cultural de China in Madrid will be hosting a conference at its headquarters entitled Getting to know China through Art, to be given by Dr. Liu Bo.
This speaker holds a PhD in Art History from Nankai University in 2005, and is currently a doctoral supervisor at the National Academy of Arts of China. He has published numerous academic articles, art criticism, poetry and prose totalling more than 400,000 characters. In addition, he has published more than 10 personal works including collections of paintings, anthologies, calligraphy compilations and translations.
The lecture will tell the stories of China through numerous works of art, such as the famous Preface to the poems composed in the Orchid Pavilion or Wang Xizhi’s Lanting Xu, the legendary story of Bo Ya and Ziqi, etc. Liu Bo will use these artistic expressions to narrate how the Chinese people perceive nature, their friendships, life itself and even their attitude to wealth.
