Casa Árabe continues with its programme of monologues (Fridays) and concerts (Saturdays) in its Secret Garden at the junction of Alcalá and O’Donnell streets in Madrid.
Next Friday 7 July at 9.30 p.m., the protagonists will be the monologuists Laura del Val and Sergio Bezos. Show in Spanish. The first of the two is a Spanish comedian who left her career as a lawyer to follow her passion for comedy. After trying out the world of humour as a hobby, she set up a monologue show in Madrid in 2019. The second, Sergio Bezos, is a comedian, actor, scriptwriter and collaborator known for radio and TV shows such as “Vodafone yu, no te pierdas nada”, “Dani y Flo”, “Gente Viva” and “La Resistencia”. Also, on Saturday 8 July at 9 p.m., there will be a musical evening (pictured) at the same venue, with performances by the Algerian singer Wafa Oudjit and the Palestinian singer-songwriter Haya Zaatry. Concert in Arabic. Tickets to see them live can be purchased here.
The Algerian Wafa Oudjit was born in Bouira. In 2021 she released her first album “Visages”, where classical oriental inspiration fuses with flamenco rhythms, without neglecting other current rhythms such as trap or hip hop. Haya Zaatry is a Palestinian singer-songwriter, architect and researcher, born and raised in Nazareth and based in Haifa. Haya’s musical origins are inspired by melancholic acoustic folk mixed with Arabic musical influences.
