According to the Embassy of Luxembourg, the University of Luxembourg has announced the creation of a Master in Investment Law, in close cooperation with the law firms Arendt & Medernach and Elvinger Hoss Prussen. The programme, devoted entirely to fund law, is a pioneer in Europe and aims to train lawyers in a sector in which the Grand Duchy is a benchmark and world leader.
It is a bilingual master’s degree – English and French – whose curriculum covers real estate funds, private equity funds, debt funds, long-term European funds, fintech and cross-border distribution, among others, and links fundamental and applied research. It will start in September 2023 and has 25 places available.
In parallel, the University of Luxembourg has created the Chair in Financial Law, chaired by Isabelle Ristretto. The activities that will be articulated from here – including the master’s degree – “aim to respond to the constant needs of Luxembourg’s financial market, which must adapt to an evolving legal framework and to new challenges linked to innovation, digitalisation and sustainable development”, said the chair.
