The Fundación Carlos de Amberes (Claudio Coello, 99) and the Garcilasos Company present tomorrow Friday at 7 p.m. in the Foundation’s chapel the concert of English polyphony Between Two Queens performed by In Hora Sexta, a vocal chamber group specialised in music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, as well as contemporary music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The concert will consist of a repertoire based on the Queens Elizabeth I (1533-1603) and Elizabeth II (1926-2022), with works by Stanford, Taverner, Vaughan Williams, Sheppard, Harris, Tallis, Howells, Byrd, H. Parry and Weelkes. It will take place in the chapel of the Fundación Carlos de Amberes in the setting of the Martyrdom of St. Andrew by the master Peter Paul Rubens.
This concert is part of the IV Renacen Festival, dedicated to the Renaissance and Baroque arts, with which the Fundación Carlos de Amberes has collaborated since its first edition. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
