After its success in 2021 on the stage of the Teatro de la Zarzuela and after having performed at the Palacio de festivales in Santander, the lyrical season will close at this theatrical venue with the revival from 21st to 30th June of Luisa Fernanda, by Federico Moreno Torroba, a score much loved by the public, full of the most famous romanzas of Spanish zarzuela.

The action of this zarzuela begins in the city of Madrid, during the reign of Isabel II, in the run-up to the Revolution of 1868, and ends in a house in Extremadura after the dethronement of Isabel II with La Gloriosa.

The stage will revive the Madrid of the mid-19th century (as well as the Extremadura that closes the story) to host the comings and goings of one of the undisputed masterpieces of opera, with a libretto by one of the most prolific, successful and enlightened couples of the genre, Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Shaw. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
