Next Friday 16 June at 7.30pm, the Sala La Riviera in Madrid will host the show Homenaje a Mecano. Me cuesta tanto olvidarte, a spectacular production by Tratos based on the figure of the most important and much-missed Spanish pop group.
The physical and vocal resemblance of singer Belén Alarcón to the group’s singer, Ana Torroja, makes her the best double in the world and is undoubtedly the key to the success and what sets the band apart from any other tribute. In addition, she is accompanied on stage by a first class band made up of musicians from the most important groups in Spanish music: Salva Ortiz (Presuntos Implicados, Seguridad Social, Revolver); Bruno Olmos (Manu Tenorio, Calle Paris), Xema Reig (Diego Martín, Smoking Souls) and José García (awarded a scholarship by the Fundación Musica Creativa with a special mention).
Great hits such as Aire, Un año más, Hoy no me puedo levantar and Cruz de navajas will be performed with 100% respect for the original arrangements and the musical and instrumental line-up. The show also reproduces the set design, costumes and choreography of the original show. Everything is designed to relive an authentic Mecano concert.
