As part of the French film festival France is on Screen, which will introduce Spanish audiences to some of the most eagerly awaited French film premieres, the fiction film Un lugar por el que luchar (Une zone à défendre) will be screened tomorrow at 19.30 at the Instituto Francés in Madrid, in the presence of the director Romain Cogitore, who will talk to the audience during a debate moderated by the journalist Manuel Planelles. Free admission until full capacity is reached. Screening in the original version with Spanish subtitles.
The film uses the codes of espionage cinema and melodrama to draw attention to the state of today’s world and social protests. Greg (François Civil), an official of the DGSI (National Intelligence Centre), is sent under a false identity to infiltrate a ZAD. There he meets Myriam (Lyna Khoudri), an environmental activist. Eighteen months later, Greg returns to the site for an official mission, meets Myriam and discovers she has a baby. Torn between his professional ambitions and his budding love, Greg must make a decision that could change everything. Because time is running out and soon it will all be gone. This breathtaking melodrama from the Disney+ factory will be available exclusively on the streaming platform from 7 July.
